The British Medical Laser Association (BMLA) has revealed the agenda for its virtual conference, held in association with the European Laser Association.
The two-day virtual conference taking place on May 6-7 will include more than 20 medical and aesthetic educational courses, masterclasses and interactive sessions with leading industry speakers and course faculty.
Four educational courses have been made available via the online platform ahead of the virtual meeting, and delegates can review the material in preparation for the live Q&A sessions. The short courses will have an additional fee and the course certificates will have the appropriate CPD points on.
On day one of the conference, the Core of Knowledge course will be hosted by medical physicist, Mr Graham Hart, board member of the European Laser Association, Professor Harry Moseley and independent laser and radiation protection advisor, Mr Stan Batchelor. The live Q&A session will discuss the basic principles of laser generation and review laser/IPL technology.
The first educational course to take place will be on hair removal, led by clinical director at Lynton Lasers, Dr Samantha Hills and Professor Moseley. The second educational course will cover vascular lesions and will be hosted by consultant dermatologist, Dr Raman Bhutani and Dr Sanjay Rajpara, a dermatology (Mohs) surgeon.
Day two will begin with the third educational course on ablative laser treatment, led by consultant dermatologist, laser and dermatological surgeon, Dr Vishal Madan and consultant dermatologist, Dr Daron Seukeran. The final educational course will be on energy-based devices conducted by founder of the Dutch Aesthetic Laser Association and honourable member of the BMLA, Dr Claudia van der Lugt. This session will focus on the wide array of energy-based devices to improve body contours and facial features in a non-surgical manner.
