Dr Nestor’s Medical Cosmetic Centre has introduced a women’s health clinic into its facilities.
The clinic aims to provide discreet and effective solutions for intimate health issues suffered by female patients, that are often considered too taboo to be openly discussed. Aesthetic practitioner Dr Nestor Demosthenous stated the clinic will 'look at the medical, hormonal and psychological factors affecting women of all ages'.
The women’s health clinic offers bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, which aims to ease symptoms of the menopause, premenstrual syndrome, postnatal depression and endometriosis. It will also be using non-surgical vaginal tightening treatment ThermiVa which uses radiofrequency aimed to strengthen and tone the pelvic floor by stimulating collagen.
Additionally, Dr Demosthenous has appointed a new doctor to lead the department, Dr Rosy Fazzi, who specialises in women’s health and wellbeing.
Dr Demosthenous said, “We are delighted to be launching this new service for the women of Edinburgh and beyond. The issues that the women’s health department will be treating are often ignored by women who are too embarrassed to seek help, and we are determined to change that. I am also delighted to be welcoming Dr Rosy to the team; she is a women’s health specialist and a consummate professional, and her wealth of expertise will help women all over the country to start feeling their very best again.”
Dr Fazzi added, “I am thrilled to be joining the team at Dr Nestor’s Medical Cosmetic Centre. After working for years in general practice and specialising in women’s health issues, I am very pleased to be able to bring this knowledge and experience to the women of Edinburgh and beyond.”
