FDA clears non-invasive décolletage treatment

30 Jul 2015

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the non-surgical Ultherapy Décolletage treatment for fine lines and wrinkles on the chest.

The approval comes as a poll, consisting of 2,000 women in the UK, indicated that 40% agreed that the décolletage is the most noticeable sign of ageing, followed by wrinkles (29%), jowls (15%) and loss of collagen and firmness of the skin (14%).

Dr Tracy Mountford of Cosmetics Skin Clinic in London and founding member of the British College of Aesthetic Medicine (BCAM), said of the treatment, “Ultherapy gives a really swift, and impressive lifting and tightening effect which smoothes the wrinkling in the chest.”

She continued, “We can combine Ultherapy with laser technology for people who are significantly sun damaged to give optimum results in both lift, firmness and skin quality.”
