Aesthetic distributor Fusion GT has introduced a new stretch mark treatment, Biodermogenesi. It can be used on both types of stretch marks; striae alba and striae rubra.

According to Fusion GT, the device uses a ‘powerful and unique combination of electromagnetic energy and vacuum technology’ that allows for an increase in oxygenation, rebuilds type three collagen, removes toxins and restructures the damaged cells within the skin. The company claims that it also fills in the stretch mark’s hollow area session by session, which then allows the natural tanning process to occur.

Research suggests that the treatment is also effective against cellulite and skin hypotonia as well as treatment of burn scars and post-surgical scars with no side effects and no downtime, the company claims.

Professor Pierantonio Bacci and Dr La Magra, researchers from Tuscany healthcare company ASL 8 of Arezzo, conducted several biopsies to analyse the effectiveness of the treatment, which indicated that in two days there was a substantial increase in collagen and elastic fibres and greater cell reproduction. The study was for stretch marks, skin hypotonia and cellulite with isto-chemical biopsy.

Tiziana Giovenelli, director of Fusion GT, said of the Biodermogenesi, “We see a real restructuring of stretch marks without side effects. The most significant aspect is certainly given by the uniformity of the results, which are replicable on any patient, as long as the treatment provider is respecting the operative protocols.”

Dr Alex Bader, who was one of the first aesthetic practitioners to have access to the treatment in the UK, added, “Biodermogenesi is a highly effective treatment method for all kinds of stretch marks. No other treatment currently available is able to ensure that stretch marks disappear completely and return to the normal skin appearance. With the Biodermogenesi method, we can straighten the rough skin and by improving melanocytes in the treated area we help stretch marks gain colour even in the late-term marks, which no other treatment can do.”

Patients are required to undertake six to nine treatments to achieve maximum results.
