Consultant plastic surgeon Mr Dalvi Humzah has joined the Academy of Clinical Educators as a college clinical educator at The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (RCPSG).
The Academy of Clinical Educators was set up by the RCPSG as a separate faculty that aims to provide employers, students and colleges with evidence of an individual’s skills and qualifications to conduct medical training.
As a clinical educator, Mr Humzah will assist in the organisation of the annual conference and other educational meetings, and in communicating with members.
“The academy is a faculty for those who are recognised trainers and educators within the clinical and medical field,” said Mr Humzah, continuing, “I think it’s very important because we are beginning to see lots of people teaching and training now. Everyone wants to set up their own teaching course or academy, but you need to have the right credentials to be able to teach – that’s a responsibility of not only the person doing the teaching but also companies who are conducting training sessions.”
The Academy is open to anyone who is actively involved in the training of medical, dental or veterinary professionals at all stages including undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing professional development.
