Following a successful event in 2016, pharmaceutical company IBSA Italia organised another anatomy training for the use of hyaluronic acid dermal filler injections in Verona on May 18-19.
Distributor HA-Derma invited delegates from the UK to attend the two-day training event, which was led by Italian plastic and aesthetic surgeons Mr Fabio Ingallina, Mr Filippo Brighetti and Mr Giovanni Salti.
They presented on a range of topics, including anatomical considerations for optimising injection techniques and danger zones to be aware of and there was a discussion of techniques for the full-face treatment approach.
The theory was complemented with live dissections and delegates underwent hands-on training under the supervision of the trainers while using Aliaxin dermal fillers and Profhilo for skin remodelling.
UK delegates Dr Kishan Raichura, Dr Meriem Martins and aesthetic nurse Ross Needham said the trip was excellent. Dr Raichura said, “We are ready to put some of the points into practice. The teaching was amazing.”
The social programme took all participants on a tour through Verona, with Juliet’s balcony from Shakespeare being a highlight of the tour.
Hana Te Reo, operations manager of HA-Derma said, "Everything went extremely well. We would like to thank IBSA for looking after our delegates. Particular praised must go to the 'hands-on' experience, which allowed for the delegates to focus on key areas that might be of particular personal interest."
