Members of the consumer and trade press were invited to a product launch and vitamin A masterclass, hosted by Medik8, on February 23.
Held at the Conde Nast College of Fashion and Design, in Soho, London, guests were treated to a light healthy breakfast before the masterclass began.
The first half of the session was led by aesthetic practitioner Dr Uliana Gout, who explained the benefits of using vitamin A/retinoids and how they can improve the skin.
The second half of the session was led by formulation and development director at Medik8, Daniel Isaacs, who unveiled two new vitamin A products – Crystal Retinal Stable Retinal Night Serum (two strengths – 0.06% and 0.1% retinal), and the r-Retinoate Rejuvenating Eye Treatment System.
"There’s a lot of confusion around vitamin A, so we wanted to give trade and consumer press an exclusive vitamin A 101"
"There’s a lot of confusion around vitamin A, so we wanted to give trade and consumer press an exclusive vitamin A 101, as well as unveiling two very exciting new launches," said Isaacs. "We worked closely with Dr Uliana Gout; as a highly accomplished aesthetic doctor with an extensive knowledge of retinoids, she provided an excellent overview on the benefits of vitamin A. This was followed by a talk by myself on our new Crystal Retinal serum where we’ve successfully created a stable version of retinaldehyde through crystal encapsulation."
He continued, "The second product we revealed was the r-Retinoate Rejuvenating Eye System, a range extension for our best-selling r-Retinoate Youth Activating Cream. This cutting-edge, four-week eye treatment combines a high-performance vitamin A eye serum, dissolvable micro-channel eye patches and bio-cellulose eye patches in an easy-to-use system that’s clinically proven to reduce fine lines, wrinkles and crow’s feet in just four weeks."
