On Friday 9 June, oculoplastic surgeon Mrs Sabrina Shah-Desai ran a course on fillers, advising on the anatomical basis of restoration and rejuvenation of the male and female facial profile using non–surgical injectable filler treatments.
Mrs Shah Desai, founder of the Oculo-Facial Aesthetic Academy (OFAA), who specialises in surgical and non-surgical periorbital rejuvenation, provided course delegates with an understanding of facial anatomical layers using fresh cadavers and prosections. Delegates practiced anatomical surface marking on fresh frozen cadavers, with an emphasis on avoiding critical neurovascular anatomy in upper, mid and lower face.
The wet-lab covered basic, intermediate and advanced safe reproducible filler injection techniques for the most clinically relevant facial areas, specifically addressing how to improve the facial profile. They also learnt how to avoid complications from poor technique and inappropriate patient selection and the best ways to improve assessment and deliver safe outcomes.
Delegate Dr Mayoni Gooneratne said, "Thank you to all the team at OFAA for such an amazing advanced anatomy training day in the cadaver lab. Top tips on male and female profile enhancement."
