On Wednesday October 3, aesthetic practitioners were invited to attend aesthetic distributor HA-Derma and pharmaceutical company IBSA Italia’s first educational event titled ‘The Best of Hyaluronic Acid’.
The event, which took place at King’s Fund in London, was held to support the UK charity for children with facial disfigurement, Facing The World. The event raised £4,000 to this cause.
To kick off the event, director of HA-Derma Iveta Vinklerova welcomed guests, introducing the topics and speakers as well as sharing background information on both HA-Derma and IBSA.
Speakers throughout the day included IBSA’s dermo esthetic business unit manager, Tania Pirazzini; Professor Chiara Schiraldi from the University of Naples; UK and Irish national sales manager for HA-Derma Frank Ward; HA-Derma medical director Dr Fab Equizi; IBSA international KOL Dr Gabriel Siquier Dameto; aesthetic practitioner Dr Beatriz Molina and independent nurse prescriber Sharon Gilshenan. Many of the speakers also performed live demonstrations.
An introduction to HA-Derma and IBSA Italia’s products, including the newly released injectable Viscoderm Hydrobooster, Profhilo Haenkenium cream, Profhilo and Aliaxin dermal fillers were all presented, providing delegates with detailed information about each of them and how they work in practice.
Aesthetic practitioner, Dr Shirin Lakhani who attended as a delegate said of the day, “It’s been extremely educational, and I have learned a lot about the products in HA-Derma’s portfolio. The live demonstrations have also been exceptional.”
HA-Derma's operations director, Hana Te Reo said of the day, “The primary objective behind our very first HA-Derma event was to recognise industry practitioners and ‘give back’ by sharing knowledge and insight into the background and collaboration between IBSA and HA-Derma.”
She added, “It was an absolute privilege to secure Professor Chiara Schiraldi for our event as not only is she the scientist responsible for developing Profhilo, but this has been her first speaking engagement with HA-Derma in the UK, during which we were able to offer practitioners the opportunity to liaise with her directly. Furthermore, we have also been able to support the Facing The World charity, a cause very close to our hearts.”
The day drew to a close with a canapé and champagne networking opportunity, giving delegates time to meet with a selection of the HA-Derma approved distribution partners, which include Church Pharmacy, Wigmore Medical, Intravita International, Springpharm Ltd., Millennium St. Helens pharmacy and Mediva in the UK, and John Bannon Ltd in Ireland.
