The new Vanquish Flex radiofrequency technology from global device manufacturer, BTL Aesthetics, has indicated positive results for non-surgical thigh reductions in new research.

Two studies published in Dermatologic Therapy and the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology suggested that the technology offers results to rival surgical fat removal, without the pain or downtime.

The product aims to reduce stubborn fat around the mid-section by focusing on smaller and localized fat deposits using laser selective energy field.

According to the research in Dermatologic Therapy, the safety and efficiency of the device was assessed through the treatment of 40 patients. The authors reported a reduction in thigh circumference of an average of 2.43cm compared with an untreated control group of 10 patients where no change was seen. The results suggested that the contactless RF applicator is safe, painless and effective for the circumferential reduction of the thighs.

?The safety and effectiveness of the Vanquish Flex was also studied by the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology, which reported an average thigh reduction of 3.86cm in 30 patients. The authors concluded that, “Based on the measurements obtained the device under investigation was considered safe and effective in terms of improved contour and circumferential reduction of inner and outer thighs.”

According to BTL Aesthetics, the Vanquish Flex is the only contactless form of body contouring in the UK and was approved by the FDA in June 2015.
