Sunscreen coverage-viewer developed

06 Sep 2016

A camera that is designed to allow the user to view their sunscreen coverage and protection has been developed in the US.

Sunscreenr permits the user to look at their skin through the camera, which shows protected skin as black and unprotected skin as white, allowing the user to see spots where water, sand or sweat has worn away protection.

Dave Cohen, co-founder and creator said, “My goal in creating Sunscreenr was to find a way for my family to protect themselves while enjoying the outdoors – so I took technology that was previously only accessible to scientists and made it accessible to all of us. It’s easy to use, waterproof and durable – it's perfect for everywhere.”

Sunscreenr is currently still in the development stage and work is taking place on the second proof-of-concept prototype.
