  • 2018-09-26 00:00:00 2019-06-01 23:59:59 Europe/London MSc/ PgDip/ PgCert: Non-surgical Aesthetic Medicine Programme Overview: This MSc/ PgDip/ PgCert will prepare U.K. registered; Doctors, Nurses and Dentists, to deliver safe, person-centred non-surgical aesthetic practices. Year 1 (PgCert), reflects ‘gold standards’ and evidence based frameworks for aesthetic practice, ensuring students are equipped to provide the highest standards of practice within the U.K. Successfully completing the PgCert, will demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the ethical and legal issues underpinning aesthetic practice, and will demonstrate a mastery level of knowledge of facial anatomy, physiology and ageing. Students will also be able to demonstrate and apply evidence based decision-making, regarding the suitability of defined treatment modalities, or pharmacological interventions, and will be able to provide a range of evidence-based skills, designed to ensure the safe delivery of professional cosmetic practice. Year 2 (PgDip), provides an introduction to research methods, preparing students for the MSc dissertation module in year 3. Students also have the autonomy to select from a range of modules, including; non-medical prescribing, advanced non-surgical aesthetic practice or legal and ethical concepts, designed to further expand the students knowledge and skills as a non-surgical aesthetic practitioner. Year 3 (MSc Dissertation) offers students an opportunity to complete a piece of contemporary research or scholarly enquiry, related to non-surgical aesthetic medicine. Successful completion of the dissertation module, will lead to an MSc in Non-surgical Aesthetic Medicine award. Teaching, Learning and Assessment: The taught components of the part-time PgCert, are largely delivered vie online e-lectures and discussion boards, which facilitates a flexible and accessible approach for students. However, the wider modules adopt a variety of blended teaching and learning strategies, including; seminars, e-lecturers, discussion boards, simulation and cadaver laboratory work. Further, modules utilise a range of assessment strategies, including; written assignments, exams, VIVA, competency portfolio, research proposal and masters dissertation. (So you will be able to treat patients complaining of lines between the brows, linage on the forehead & “crows’ feet” or “laughter lines”.) The emphasis is on practical experience so you are confident to inject on leaving. We train a maximum of 4 delegates during any course as we like to keep our training courses intimate and informative You must bring your own model. You must be a registered medical professional: e.g.: Nurse, doctor or dentist. We email you an application & require proof of your qualifications. You will be given all course slides on a printed booklet. Also the Consent form & aftercare advice on a pdf to adapt with your own logo. We will film & photograph you during the course for use on your own social media, or ours. Please let us know if you do not want to be identified in photos prior to the course.
