LPG Tech reveals new study into patient wellness

Device company LPG Tech has released the ‘Vitality, Stress, Sleep Clinical Trial’, looking into the effects of the endermologie device on patient wellbeing.

endermologie is a mechanical tissue manipulation and deep massage device, used for lymphatic drainage, skin firming, muscular issues and post-surgery healing. The research looked into the potential positive impact on overall physical, mental, and emotional health and wellbeing.

The placebo-controlled trial of 30 participants who struggled with sleep and stress analysed responses after 10 sessions of 40 minutes using endermologie. The experimental group saw an increase of 9.4% in white blood cells that help fight infections and increase immune defences.

The group saw a 44.6% decrease in the stress hormone cortisol, and patients said their perceived stress levels had almost halved. Insomnia-related sleep disorders were reduced by 54.7%, and muscular pain was down by 69%.

Professor Christophe Hausswirth, the trial’s independent clinical research director, comments, “There is already good evidence to suggest that manual massage can reduce levels of cortisol and encourage the release of serotonin. Other studies have shown that manual lymphatic drainage can positively impact the brain and nervous system. But this is the first trial to conclusively prove that a series of mechanical massage treatments designed to target the lymphatic system can have such significant effects on so many aspects of mental health.”
