The London Academy of Aesthetic Medicine has launched The Online Ultimate Toxin Course.

Taking place on May 27, June 24 and July 29 via Zoom, the course aims to allow medical professionals to utilise their time at home effectively and enhance their knowledge on the use and science behind botulinum toxin.

Topics covered will include the mechanism of action of toxin, current legislation, available preparations, treatment indications, patient assessment, relevant anatomy, injection points, reconstitution and post-procedure advice.

Also detailed will be business aspects of running a clinic, including fee setting, advertising and utilising social media for marketing.

The Online Ultimate Toxin Course will be led by Dr Wassim Taktouk, a Teoxane UK country expert with more than 11 years’ experience in aesthetics, Dr Sheila Nguyen, an aesthetic practitioner and dentist with more than four years’ experience training practitioners, and Dr Tara Francis, a dentist with five years’ experience in aesthetics and trainer for Stylage dermal fillers.

Dr Francis said, “Delegates will complete the course with support and guidance throughout, and will feel confident in treating 18 indications with botulinum toxin. Our combined experience in the aesthetic field had led us to develop a unique training pathway that we strongly believe in, and have received fantastic feedback from. We believe that this is the only course delegates will need to attend to be confident in the foundation and advanced practice of botulinum toxin.”

A practical half-day training session, injecting on live models, will take place once lockdown has eased. According to the trainers, delegates will be able to attend another complementary theoretical session prior to the practical element to allow for further consolidation of knowledge.

The training is CPD accredited and open to doctors, dentists and nurses.
