BCAM hosts first Regional Meeting

The British College of Aesthetic Medicine (BCAM) has hosted its first Regional Meeting at Bank MediSpa in Cheshire.

The event was coordinated by aesthetic practitioner and BCAM Full Member Dr Ahmed El Houssieny. The agenda incorporated a live Hydrafacial demonstration, a talk on regulation and education with Dr Tamara Griffiths and an update on BCAM’s current and future projects by chief operating officer Jamie Lennon.

Dr El Houssieny commented, “I am honoured to have led the first BCAM Regional Event here in the North West. BCAM are strong advocates for raising standards and protecting the public. It was a pleasure to connect with colleagues old and new outside of London, and to provide education and networking opportunities.”

BCAM explains that the Regional Meetings are designed to enhance education and networking on a local level, and are currently looking for Regional Leaders to host meetings in the following areas: North East and Scotland; North West and Yorkshire; West and East Midlands; West and Wales; South West; South East; Northern Ireland and Ireland.

Menopause in Aesthetics returns to London in 2024

Educational event Menopause in Aesthetics (MiA) is returning to London in February, 2024.

MiA explains the event is designed to provide education for practitioners offering menopause support in their clinics, with 30 speakers, 40 exhibitors and 500 delegates expected to attend.

The one-day event will feature expert talks, masterclasses and workshops and topics including menopause and cancer, intimate health, skin and hair, hormone therapies, weight management, regenerative treatments and more.

Confirmed speakers for the event include aesthetic practitioners Dr Ginni Mansberg, Dr Shirin Lakhani, Miss Sherina Balaratnam, Dr Nima Mahmoodi, Dr Nabil Elmahdawi, Dr Anne Henderson, Dr Yusra Al-Mukhtar and Dr Natasha Fernando.

MiA founder and managing director Charlotte Body said, “We are thrilled to bring Menopause in Aesthetics back for 2024. Our aim is to empower aesthetic professionals with the knowledge and tools they need to better serve women going through menopause. We have a fantastic line-up of expert speakers in the pipeline who will be sharing their insights and experiences, and we look forward to welcoming delegates from all over the world either in person or virtually via our online platform.”

Hands on Ultrasound Training in Aesthetics

The first stage in our Ultrasound development course is the online Ultrasound: Basics & Principles course which costs £200. This is an online learning app with seven modules on the “Introduction to the Basics of Ultrasound” with concepts, uses and safety aspects included.

Following the first Ultrasound course, you can then progress to the second stage course which costs £600 and is a one day practical hands-on session using an ultrasound scanner to practice identification of structures and explore in detail the uses of ultrasound in practice. You are also welcome to bring along your own handheld device to gain more experience in its function.

Our next practical hands-on course is scheduled to take place in Wolverhampton on Monday 11th December
