A survey of 2,352 consumers by practitioner register Save Face suggested that 98% of respondents wanted a non-surgical cosmetic treatment once lockdown restrictions lifted, but also deemed safety measures to be essential for them to proceed.
Save Face also discovered that 94% of the public want to reduce contact time by having remote consultations and follow-up appointments.
Other interesting findings of the survey were that 86% said that thorough screening was essential, and 95% said that it was essential the practitioner is a trained healthcare professional with a thorough understanding of infection control.
Ashton Collins, director of Save Face, said she is not at all surprised by the volume of respondents who said that they wanted a non-surgical cosmetic treatment once lockdown restrictions are lifted.“We have been inundated with queries from members of the public and our website traffic has been at its highest, with thousands of people using it to research treatments and potential practitioners. We are absolutely delighted that an overwhelming number of respondents said that enhanced safety measures will be at the forefront of their decision-making process,” she said.
Collins added, “With such a high percentage of people wanting a treatment, it is extremely positive that 95% of respondents said it was essential that their practitioner was a healthcare professional with a thorough understanding of infection control. This clearly illustrates that there is now a strong correlation between the perception that the public has with these safety measures and practitioners who are healthcare professionals. Hopefully, we will now start to see a positive shift in the way the public perceive these treatments, especially amongst younger people who have previously viewed them as low risk beauty treatments as opposed to complex medical interventions.”
