The British College of Aesthetic Medicine (BCAM) has revealed aesthetic practitioner Dr Sophie Shotter as its new President Elect.
BCAM explains that this role has existed for several years, and it refers to a vice presidency role, with the expectation that the vice president will be elected as the next BCAM president when the existing president steps down.
BCAM shares that Dr Shotter’s appointment into the role means she will be working officially alongside aesthetic practitioner Dr Catherine Fairris, who is the current president of BCAM. BCAM explains that there is no official handover date yet for Dr Shotter to officially be appointed, but it is set to take place over the next few months.
Dr Shotter commented, “I’m delighted to have been voted as BCAM President Elect. Over the coming months I will be working closely with Dr Fairris, our current President, and the Board of Trustees to ensure a seamless transition and am looking forward to helping BCAM continue to strive for improved standards and patient safety in aesthetics.”
Dr Fairris also commented, “It is with great pleasure that the board has appointed Dr Shotter as president elect of BCAM. Dr Shotter is a valuable and dedicated board trustee who, since her appointment alongside Dr Manav Bawa, has worked to evolve and improve our annual conference. I look forward to working more closely with her in this new capacity and with the wider board, pushing BCAM to the next phase in its history.”
