CAP releases bitesize advertising guidance series

The Committee of Advertising Practice (CAP) has released a new series of CAP Bitesize instructional videos specifically for aesthetics advertising rules.

Series three of CAP Bitesize focuses specifically on guidance for non-surgical cosmetic intervention advertising, offering tips on new targeting rules for aesthetic adverts, socially responsible advertising, rules for before and after photos, avoiding misleading advertising and the rules for promoting botulinum toxin.

Lisette Knight, the Advertising Standards Authority’s marketing communications executive, said, “We urge all aesthetic practitioners to take advantage of our Bitesize series. It’s free, informative and created by the Code experts, all designed to help save marketers the time, money and reputational damage of producing an ad that breaks the rules and runs into trouble with the ASA.”

The series can be completed in under 20 minutes on the CAP website.
