Galderma signs contract with Med-fx for sole-preferred distributor

20 Jun 2019

Pharmaceutical company Galderma (UK) Limited has confirmed that aesthetic and skincare product supplier Med-fx Ltd as its official sole-preferred distributor for its aesthetics portfolio in the UK and Ireland.

The partnership was announced in May, but has become official after the signing of the contract on June 20.

Galderma is now working in partnership with Med-fx to formalise an enhanced package of customer-centric support services for healthcare professionals, which will aim to improve their businesses, patient outcomes and safety, and overall industry standards.

Med-fx and Galderma will start to launch their new services to all customers who purchase products marketed under the Azzalure and Restylane brands in the UK and the Republic of Ireland from September 8.

Toby Cooper, medical solutions business unit head, Galderma UK and Ireland said, “We are working hard in the background with Med-fx to deliver what we believe will be an industry-leading package of tailored support services that will drive forward better outcomes for customers’ patients and their businesses.”

Paul Adams, managing director of Dental Directory, the parent company of Med-fx, said, “We are delighted to be working with Galderma as its preferred distribution partner in the UK and Ireland. Our offering at Med-fx is state-of-the-art and customer-focused. We see this partnership with Galderma as a real opportunity to improve the industry model, to offer better levels of service across the supply chain and deliver a new standard of excellence. We’re looking forward to sharing our plans with customers so they can see how they will benefit from this alliance.”

In the meantime, supply of Azzalure and Restylane brands from current distributors can continue if the distributor chooses, Cooper said. He added, “We’re committed to the contractual agreements and relationships we have with all of our current distribution partners, and to ensuring open access to both Azzalure and Restylane during this transition period. As such, it’s business-as-usual from a supply perspective, and product should be available from the usual stockists. However, if any customer experiences difficulties getting hold of either brand, or has any questions about distribution over the period, we encourage them to get in contact with Med-fx or Galderma directly.”
