Skincare company Medik8 has released a comprehensive strategy to strengthen its sustainability commitment.
The company’s four-pillar framework details its overall sustainability objective to reduce its products’ footprint.
The first pillar is climate action with Medik8 aiming to be carbon neutral by 2022 and thereafter, with a 50% reduction of carbon emission intensity by 2030 and achieve net zero by 2040.
The second pillar is waste reduction with targets comprising of 100% of packaging to be reusable, refillable or recyclable by 2026, with a 25% reduction in factory water usage by 2024 and zero waste to landfill by 2025.
The third pillar of ethical business outlines the company’s hopes to have a supplier sustainability programme in place by 2023, 100% sourcing from responsible suppliers by 2024 and 100% traceable and responsibly sourced raw materials by 2030.
The final pillar regards social investment with the company investing the higher of 0.25% EMBITDA or £300,000 between 2022-2026 andselectingt a long-term charitable partner by 2022.
