The British Association of Sclerotherapists (BAS) one-day annual conference took place on May 21 in Dorney Lake Conference Centre in Windsor.
The first sessions focused on the latest developments in treating leg ulcers, with consultant vascular surgeons Mr Michael Wall and Mr Jeremey Crane and vascular specialist nurse Lily Benton as speakers.
The BAS recommended curriculum for microsclerotherapy trainers was presented by aesthetic practitioner Dr Martyn King and consultant vascular surgeon Miss Catharine McGuinness, followed by phlebologist Dr Haroun Gajraj, who discussed managing a profitable practice.
The event is dedication to CPD accreditation, with the agenda featuring live demonstrations after lunch and opportunities to visit the sponsor exhibition, according to the BAS.
Dr Gajraj commented, “I’ve been attending the BAS meetings for many years now, they get better and better. They’re small conferences and the topics that are covered are the best that I’ve come across for sclerotherapy. Particularly helpful is the networking during the breaks, and we get to speak to the specialists and get tips and advice that you wouldn’t get during the presentations. Overall, it has been a fantastic day.”
