Italian manufacturer Callegari has introduced the new Mini2 FX device, designed to employ reflectance photometry to measure the melanin content of the skin and determine its phototype.
The company explains the device can be placed against the skin for an instant melanin level reading. By correlating these levels with the skin’s phototype, the Mini2 FX aims to provide a comprehensive analysis, indicating whether melanin content is low, normal or high relative to the phototype.
Callegari explains this enables professionals to perform more precise assessments and recommend treatments, such as laser procedures, customised to the skin’s specific needs.
Renzo Catellani, founder and CEO of Callegari, commented, “The Mini2 FX aligns seamlessly with Callegari’s philosophy of “You Are Unique.” This philosophy emphasises the importance of the individual, and the uniqueness of their skin in the development of our products and concepts. By using the Mini2-FX, which delivers objective parameters, professionals can tailor skincare protocols to meet the specific needs of each patient.”
