Icelandic skincare company ChitoCare Beauty has released its Waterless Enzyme Cleanser.
ChitoCare shares that this powder-to-lather cleanser combines naturally derived enzymes and marine chitosan to exfoliate the skin and remove makeup and impurities. Its formula contains papaya fruit extract, papain extract and protease, which aim to help break down dead surface skin cells and refine skin texture, explains the company.
The company further shares that marine chitosan, a marine-derived biopolymer also used in medical wound care, is included to help support the skin barrier and maintain skin comfort, adding that the cleanser is designed to provide an alternative to physical scrubs and stronger acid-based exfoliants.
CEO of ChitoCare Beauty, Sigga Vigfúsdóttir, commented, “The Waterless Enzyme Cleanser was developed to reflect our sustainability values, environmental vision and scientific approach to skincare. Removing water creates a highly concentrated, more stable powder that activates only on contact with water, preserving ingredient quality while delivering an effective yet gentle, fresh cleansing experience. It also reduces product weight and transportation emissions, supporting our commitment to responsible innovation.”
