Facial palsy training platform launches

Nurse prescriber Michelle McLean has introduced a new CPD-accredited platform on the assessment and management of facial palsy using botulinum toxin (BoNT-A).

According to McLean, facial palsy affects approximately one in 60 people, yet access to trained practitioners remains limited. She explains that the new platform provides 12 hours of CPD-accredited learning, and has been designed to address this gap, combining clinical theory with practical application, including patient assessment, treatment planning and advanced toxin protocols for the upper and lower face.

McLean shares that with over 14 years of clinical experience, she has developed a specialist interest in facial palsy, treating patients with complex presentations and aiming to contribute to improved understanding within aesthetic practice.

McLean commented, “Over the years, I’ve treated many patients with facial palsy and asymmetry, and it became clear that there is a real need for more confident, well-trained medical professionals in this area. Patients are often unsure where to go for specialist advice, and as a specialty, we need to build a stronger, more informed network of practitioners who can support them safely. This platform brings together years of clinical work, research, education and ongoing case studies. I’m incredibly proud to see it come together in a way that supports both practitioner development and patient care.”
