The Joint Council for Cosmetic Practitioners (JCCP) has appointed aesthetic practitioners Dr Martyn King and Professor John Underwood as its two new trustees.

Dr King has also accepted the role of JCCP vice chair. He commented, “I am extremely honoured to be appointed to the position of vice chair of the JCCP and will work professionally and diligently with the Board of Trustees, sub-committees and all stakeholders to help the JCCP achieve its goals to improve regulation, education, standards and most importantly, patient safety.”

As well as becoming a trustee, Professor Underwood has also agreed to act as chair of the JCCP Marketing and Communications Committee. He said, “I am delighted to be joining the JCCP as a new trustee. As the number of non-surgical aesthetic procedures increases there is a growing need for credible regulation and evidence-based professional standards. The public increasingly wants proper patient protection and trustworthy information. In this context effective communication is essential and as chair of the JCCP Marketing and Communications Committee I will aim to support JCCP colleagues in providing the public with the reliable information and dependable reassurance they need.”
