New research published in NPJ Women’s Health has found that more than half of women aged 30-35 experience perimenopause symptoms.
The self-reported data from 4,432 US women aged 30 and over found that 55.4% of those in the 30-35 age range reported what could be classified as moderate to severe symptoms.
These include psychological symptoms like depression, anxiety and irritability, and others such as sexual dysfunction, vaginal dryness, hot flushes, heart palpitations and urinary incontinence. Despite these findings, only 4.3% of these women had sought help for these symptoms.
