Alice Webb, 33-year-old mum of five, died on September 24 at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital following a non-surgical Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedure performed by a non-medic. According to Gloucestershire police, an inquest into Webb’s death was opened and adjourned at Gloucestershire Coroner’s Court on October 3. The cause of death requires further investigation and a post-mortem examination is ongoing.
In response, the Joint Council for Cosmetic Practitioners (JCCP), alongside the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) and the British Beauty Council (BBC), have issued new guidelines aimed at helping local authorities shut down clinics and prosecute practitioners.1
