Aesthetic device company Cutera has announced a limited commercial release of AviClear in the UK and Ireland.

According to the company, AviClear is the first FDA-cleared laser for long-term treatment of inflammatory acne vulgaris. A 2022 study of 17 patients found that a year after receiving three 30-minute treatments, 92% saw at least half of their acne resolved and two out of three were assessed as clear or almost-clear of acne.

Sam Keene, UK & Ireland regional leader Cutera, said, “We are excited to be offering this ground-breaking AviClear treatment to physicians and patients in the UK & Ireland.

Based on feedback from our early adopters, we are confident that patient demand and clinic installations will continue to grow over the next few months and that the affordability, efficacy and durability of AviClear will establish it as the gold standard of care for acne sufferers.”
