Body Image Therapy opens to support cosmetic surgery patients

Written by...

Specialist psychotherapy provider Body Image Therapy has been established, specialising in patient mental health pre- and post-cosmetic surgery.

The organisation has been set up by psychotherapists Gina Eason and Sara Crawshaw, who explain that they are providing a mental health assessment service in partnership with cosmetic surgeons, in order to ensure they are psychologically appropriate for treatment.

They explain that their offering comprises of guidance on what mental health concerns to look for prior to surgery; standardised evaluation and reports outlining risks and recommendations for each patient; and ongoing patient therapeutic services if needed.

The founders say, “Using mental health assessments, we bring cosmetic surgeons and patients together to support psychological safety, ethical practice and positive outcomes for all.”

The service is currently operating at Elite Surgical on Harley Street, London, with further expansion coming soon.
