Human Health Professionals explores integrative healthcare

The inaugural Human Health Professionals (HHP) event was held on March 6 at London’s Spaces & Stories.

Founded by aesthetic practitioner Dr Mayoni Gooneratne, HHP aimed to foster a community of clinicians focused on merging wellness, longevity and comprehensive patient care. The event’s agenda featured a holistic approach to treating skin conditions like acne and rosacea, emphasising a ‘cell-up’ method.

Dr Gooneratne highlighted the importance of addressing the root causes of conditions, urging practitioners to go beyond surface-level treatments. The session ‘Test Don’t Guess’ focused on the value of advanced diagnostic tools, particularly in relation to the skin microbiome and internal health. Interactive restorative body sessions, including breathwork and yoga led by fitness trainer Kate Selwood, offered participants insights into the mind-body connection.

Gooneratne shared, “The inaugural event marked a pivotal shift in aesthetics towards integrative healthcare. Treating symptoms at the surface is no longer enough, we must look deeper, addressing the root causes of skin and health concerns at a cellular level. Today, we have laid the foundation for educating the clinicians who will be working in a future where wellness, longevity and science intersect, driving a new era of transformative, integrative healthcare.”
