Skincare company ZO Skin Health has released a prescription-only, maximum concentration, high-potency retinol.
The brand explains that the new Complex A+ contains a 1.3% retinol concentration, making it an alternative to traditional tretinoin due to its strength. The product is designed to target antiageing, skin brightening, acne and redness, according to ZO Skin.
Rick Woodin, chief scientist for ZO Skin Health, said, “The new Complex A+ is an exciting new product launch for ZO Skin Health. The product has been formulated to deliver 1% retinol potency over its entire shelf life, and like all retinol products, it loses a bit of potency over that time frame. There is an allowance to add some ‘overage’ in manufacturing to compensate for that, but only so much is allowed. Therefore, 1.3% is the most we are allowed for a 1% intended concentration.”
