Remote prescribing in the aesthetics specialty has always been a topic of controversy and continues to be widely spoken about.1,2 Due to its contentious nature, all the main regulatory bodies including the General Medical Council (GMC), General Dental Council (GDC), Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) have introduced strict guidance on the topic.3-6
Within all guidelines, it is noted that remote prescribing – where a practitioner prescribes prescription-only medicines (POMs) for patients they do not see in person – is not permitted.
