Aesthetic practitioner Professor Bob Khanna hosted the annual International Academy of Advanced Facial Aesthetics (IAAFA) Conference and Charity Ball on November 25 at the De Vere Beaumont Estate, Windsor, raising £40,000 for charity.

In the morning, delegates received a warm welcome from Prof Khanna, followed by a comprehensive presentation on treating skin of colour by Dr Rehanna Beckhurst. Prof Khanna then explored the importance of optimising wellbeing in aesthetics, providing his tips for general wellbeing, gut health, fat reduction, pain management and antimicrobial therapy.

A talk focused on periodontal regeneration using laser and hyaluronic acid was delivered by Prof Martin Jörgens, which was followed by methods for pain management by Dr Zainab Al-Mukhtar, focusing on the benefits of using the TargetCool device.

Aesthetics journal editor Shannon Kilgariff then explored ways to utilise the media for a successful business and heightened profile in aesthetics, and Aine Larkin and Lesley McGarrity discussed their top techniques for building a high-performing clinic team.

The vital topic of psychology was presented by Dr Lea Höfel, who discussed the essence of ‘saying no’ to aesthetic patients. Dr Ranjeet Rai then shared his experiences working in aesthetics, with his key elements of advice for a successful career. A motivational talk was then delivered by business consultant Ariella Juno Indigo to empower practitioners to discover their unique identity to create a magnetic personal brand. Prof Khanna concluded the conference with a polynucleotide update, showcasing some of his personal successful case studies.

Prof Khanna said following the event, “I am delighted to have hosted a superb conference, full of excellent topics to invigorate and empower every forward-thinking clinician, wanting to progress in this evolving industry. In typical IAAFA fashion, this was followed by the most memorable evening at the annual IAAFA Awards and Charity Ball.”

Prof Khanna added that he was ecstatic to see their total ever contribution surpass £350k for their chosen children’s charities. “This year we raised over £40,100 for the Joanna Simpson foundation, dedicated in supporting children who are victims of domestic abuse,” Prof Khanna said, adding, “All the hard work and dedication was totally worth it and I’m so grateful to my team and to my wife Sonia for helping me in this endeavour. To everyone who attended and supported the event, we all thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”

IAAFA will take place again in 2024 on November 23.
