INTRODUCING NEW BAMAN REGIONAL LEADERS
Behind every great BAMAN region is a passionate regional leader, and we’re delighted to have welcomed several new faces to the team this year.

Over the coming months, they will be bringing members together through local events, networking and peer support. We encourage you to get involved and be part of our growing community.
WHAT’S GOING ON AT BAMAN?
In just over one month, we’ll be welcoming delegates back to the Eastside Rooms in Birmingham on September 24-25 for the BAMAN Autumn Aesthetic Conference 2026!
For the first time ever, celebrations will continue into the evening of the 24th as we host the BAMAN Awards & Gala Dinner.
The night gives us a much-needed chance to recognise the nurses who continue to raise standards across our profession, while enjoying an evening of great food, entertainment and catching up with colleagues away from the clinic.
The two-day agenda is shaping up nicely, and we’re thrilled to be welcoming internationally renowned anatomist Professor Sebastian Cotofana to the BAMAN stage. The conference will mark the start of our collaboration with Cotofana Anatomy, ahead of The Anatomy and Injection Experience at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh on November 21-22.
The weekend offers a rare opportunity to learn directly from Professor Cotofana in an immersive, hands-on setting.

BAMAN AUTUMN AESTHETIC CONFERENCE 2026
Tickets for this year’s event are now available to book!
We’ll be returning to The Eastside Rooms in Birmingham on September 24-25, 2026.
The agenda is currently taking shape and has been heavily influenced by member feedback, ensuring the programme builds on the success of previous conferences.
What’s new for 2026?
Peer mentoring spaces: Dedicated areas for both structured and informal connection, supporting peer discussion, regional networking and one-to-one mentoring.
Content creation station: Back by popular demand and expanded for 2026, now including on-site video content creation with support from specialist social media professionals.
Wellbeing and productivity sessions: Time built into the programme to help you reset, with practical tools to support focus, resilience and day-to-day productivity.
THE ANATOMY & INJECTION EXPERIENCE
This November, BAMAN is bringing Professor Sebastian Cotofana to the UK, as we launch The Anatomy & Injection Experience at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
Designed with BAMAN nurses in mind, but open to the wider sector, there are two routes to experience the programme:
Day one only: The Anatomy & Injection Experience – an auditorium-based educational experience where delegates will observe live cadaver dissection alongside real-time injection demonstrations, with expert commentary from Professor Cotofana and faculty throughout.
Full two-day programme: Advanced Cadaver Masterclass – the complete day one programme plus a rare opportunity to participate in a hands-on cadaver dissection led by Professor Cotofana and expert faculty, with small-group teaching and direct faculty guidance throughout.

AN OVERVIEW OF 2026
As we approach the halfway point of 2026, it’s clear to see a real sense of momentum and community across BAMAN this year. Now we are firing on all cylinders as we prepare for our remaining regional meetings, June’s Cadaveric Dissection Course and our Autumn Aesthetic Conference.
ANATOMY MASTERCLASS TO COMMENCE
The BAMAN x The A-List Cadaveric Dissection & Facial Anatomy Masterclass taking place at the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh is one of the most in-depth educational opportunities BAMAN has ever offered.
Led by internationally recognised nurse practitioner Julie Bass Kaplan, delegates will spend two full days in the labs on June 12-14, with a maximum 4:1 delegate-to-specimen ratio. Teaching is supported by facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon Mr Jory Kaplan and consultant oral and maxillofacial surgeon Mr Jeff Downie.
This course is designed for BAMAN nurses who want to move beyond basic anatomy. The learning will refine how you approach botulinum toxin and dermal filler treatments, so you leave working with greater precision and confidence. You’ll also build your ability to prevent, recognise and manage complications effectively.

We are returning to The Eastside Rooms in Birmingham on September 24-25, but for the first time, we’ve secured the entire hotel. This gives us the chance to create a much more connected experience across the two days.
The programme is currently being shaped by your feedback, with a clear focus on practical, relevant content and more CPD opportunities. As always, it’s about making sure you leave with something you can take straight back into clinic.

LEADERSHIP CHANGES
Spring is here, and with it comes a new chapter for BAMAN, with several important changes now in place across both the board and the leadership team.
You may have seen recent updates announcing new board appointments, alongside nurse prescriber Anna Baker stepping into the role of vice chair and Gareth Lewis moving into the position of chief executive officer (CEO) following 10 years with the organisation.
We are pleased to welcome our newly appointed co-opted company directors, nurse prescribers Julie Brackenbury, Kelly Saynor and Helen Blanchard, subject to approval at the next Annual General Meeting. We also welcome nurse prescribers Emma Wedgwood and Fiona Wondergem as non-executive directors.
The nurses join existing directors, BAMAN chair nurse prescriber Amy Bird and nurse prescribers Anna Baker and Amanda Demosthenous.
Beyond the announcements themselves, there has been a clear focus behind the scenes at BAMAN on what this next phase looks like and how we build on this momentum to support and enhance the experience of our wider membership.
In April, all eight members of the BAMAN board of directors came together for their first full board meeting and strategy day. There will also be opportunities to meet both the board and head office team at upcoming regional meetings, as well as at our Autumn Aesthetic Conference in September, for which tickets are now available.
AUTUMN AESTHETIC CONFERENCE
Our Autumn Aesthetic Conference returns to the Eastside Rooms in Birmingham on September 24-25, 2026, and this year, we’ll be taking over the entire venue. Every hotel room and every conference space will be dedicated to BAMAN, making it our most ambitious event to date.

BAMAN LOBBYING AT THE SCOTTISH PARLIAMENT
BAMAN were at the Scottish Parliament for the Stage 2 hearing of the Non-surgical Procedures Bill on February 24, as the professional body representing medical aesthetic nurses.
As an association, we advocate for a Scotland where patient safety comes first. Experience alone is not a substitute for medical registration, and high-risk injectables belong in permitted, clinical premises, not in unregulated residential settings.
The amendments that BAMAN opposed did not pass, which is good news for patient safety.
Health Improvement Scotland will be attending our Edinburgh Regional Meeting on March 23 to provide Scottish members with a comprehensive update on national regulation.
REGIONAL MEETINGS
As the rest of BAMAN’s regional meetings unfold across the country, we continue to create welcoming spaces for nurses, providing a broad educational agenda alongside essential training and updates.
Recent events throughout February and March have demonstrated why these gatherings matter.
So far, our meetings have been attended by more than 150 BAMAN members across the country, including regional leaders, committee members and BAMAN’s board of directors.
BAMAN board of directors’ member and education and training committee chair Anna Baker has attended the first three meetings of the year in Kent, Windsor and Chester. She reflects on the programme so far, saying, “It has been a pleasure to listen to so many stellar medical practitioners sharing a wealth of clinical experience and a variety of case studies! These meetings are an invaluable means of connecting to fellow nurses and a testament to the hard work and commitment of all our valued regional leaders across the UK. There is plenty more to come!”

BAMAN X THE A-LIST
BAMAN and professional conference The A-List are delighted to launch a two-day Cadaveric Dissection and Facial Anatomy Masterclass Course at The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, Scotland, led by internationally recognised aesthetic nurse practitioner Julie Bass Kaplan, taking place June 12-14, 2026.
This immersive course offers BAMAN nurses the opportunity to study facial anatomy at surgical depth and translate learning directly into aesthetic practice. Delegates will spend two days in laboratories on June 13-14, with a maximum four-to-one delegate-to-specimen ratio.

BAMAN is also thrilled to announce our first nurse-led educational collaboration as part of Wigmore Presents, with a dedicated BAMAN agenda. For more details, please see the news story on the left of this page.
COLLABORATING WITH THE AFP
BAMAN members are now also able to watch the recent webinar ‘Prescribing with Confidence: Regulation, Responsibility and Protecting Your Practice,’ in partnership with The Association for Prescribers (AFP).
Nurse practitioner Tracey Jones delivered the webinar for independent prescribers, focusing on current regulatory requirements and professional responsibilities. The discussion covered how regulation underpins safe prescribing, where risks most commonly arise and practical steps prescribers can take to safeguard themselves and their practice.

THE AESTHETICS AWARDS 2026
We’re proud to share that the BAMAN Education & Training Committee has been shortlisted as a Finalist for The Zenoti Award for Best Initiative/Strategic Project in Aesthetics at The Aesthetics Awards 2026!
The committee has worked with real purpose to raise educational standards, create meaningful opportunities and develop new partnerships that directly support the growth and professional development of our members.
Congratulations also to all the BAMAN members who are nominated across the Award categories, and best of luck.
BIG PLANS AT BAMAN
BAMAN’s board of directors and head office team came together on January 27 for a mini-strategy day to look ahead at 2026.
New initiatives are already underway to ensure members get the most from their membership, including the introduction of monthly BAMAN virtual member forums.
These informal sessions give members the opportunity to hear updates on what the BAMAN board and head office team have been working on, learn about current projects, ask questions, share feedback and explore more ways to get involved.
REGIONAL MEETINGS & 2026 STRATEGIC PARTNERS
January also marked the first of our 2026 regional meetings, with our members in Kent gathering in Sevenoaks for a day of education, connection and professional development. They were joined by a selection of BAMAN’s strategic partners for 2026, with more to come across the regions throughout the year.
We’re thrilled to be working with an expanded group of partners in 2026, giving members access to big companies.
You’ll see them at upcoming meetings, supporting education, sharing insights and building valuable connections with the BAMAN community.

UPCOMING BAMAN EVENTS 2026
Happy New Year everyone!
With a new year comes a new calendar of BAMAN events. With insightful speakers, live demonstrations, real-life case studies and optional basic life support, these meetings deliver reliable and relevant updates tailored to each region. They also provide valuable opportunities to connect with fellow nurses and ensure your practice aligns with the BAMAN standard.
This year we’re working even more closely with our regional leaders and the Education & Training Committee to shape each agenda around the specific needs and priorities of your area.

REGIONAL MEETINGS 2026
Starting in the South East, our first event will take place in Kent on January 26. A month later, we’ll head to the East of England for Hinxton on February 23, followed closely by a meeting in Windsor on February 25.
March is a busy month, with several locations in the diary. We begin in the North West in Chester on March 2, then move to the South Coast for Southampton on March 6, before heading back North to Leeds on March 9. The last two events in March will be in Edinburgh on March 23 and the South Coast on March 25.
In April, we will be in Devon on April 20, followed by Northern Ireland, Belfast on April 25. May also includes a visit to South Wales, as BAMAN will be in Cardiff on May 15.
Finally, in June, we will hold a meeting in Solihull on June 4, before wrapping up the BAMAN events with our final session in London at Barbican on June 25.
BAMAN will be at the Aesthetics Conference & Exhibition on March 13-14.
