Swiss skincare range Cellcosmet has released a barrier protecting cream designed to repair dry skin.

Cellcosmet describes Ultra Sensitive as a fragrance-free cream for sensitive, reactive or weakened skin, with the aim of supporting the skin barrier and reducing signs of discomfort, redness and dehydration.

Its formula contains CytoPep extracts – hydrolysed collagen, fibronectin, actin and keratin – alongside ceramides, cholesterol and phytosphingosine, which the company says help reinforce the barrier.

Ophiopogon japonicus root extract is intended to moisturise and reduce water loss, while green algae extract is described as soothing and supporting hydration. The company also lists oat oil, hyaluronic acid, allantoin and fig extract.

Dr Jérémie Soeur, chief of science at Cellcosmet, commented, “When skin undergoes a non-invasive aesthetic procedure, its priority is not antiageing performance but the restoration of its biological integrity. Based on our instrumental and dermatological studies, as well as real-life use in medical practices, Ultra Sensitive has demonstrated particularly significant results; rapid reduction of redness, measurable hydration increase and a lasting decrease in transepidermal water loss – a key indicator of barrier cohesion.”
