On April 4, the Joint Council for Cosmetic Practitioners will host a webinar focusing on mental health in the aesthetics specialty.

‘Exploring and Understanding the Importance of Mental Health Composition in Training and Education’ will cover topics including social media’s impact on body image, holistic consultations to evaluate patients’ mental health, and supporting the patient journey.

Speakers will include executive chair and registrar of the JCCP Professor David Sines, England & Wales director at the Mental Health Foundation Dr Antonio Kousoulis, and integrative psychologist Kimberley Cairns.

Professor Sines commented, “The JCCP places public safety and informed consent at the heart of its consumer engagement campaigns. The focus of this webinar will be to consider issues relating to healthy body image, personal wellbeing, self-esteem and mental health at all ages. We are delighted to able to host this important webinar at such a pivotal point in our national journey towards the implementation of a robust system of public protection and governance for the non-surgical cosmetic industry.”
