The London Intercontinental Facial Lab event was hosted on February 28 and March 1 at King’s College, London.
Professor Alwyn D’Souza, in collaboration with ENT consultant Miss Maria Pulido, organised the training programme, aiming to promote safe, evidence-based practices among aesthetic professionals.
The event covered various aspects within the specialty, such as the urgent demand for practitioner competence in treatment planning and complication management. Anatomical dissection on fresh frozen cadavers, led by Professor D’Souza, followed by multiple demonstrations of surface anatomy formed a core part of the course.
Other talks included injectable techniques, ultrasound use and patient selection. Lecturers included BCAM president and aesthetic practitioner Dr Catherine Fairris, dental surgeon Dr Souphi Samizadeh and aesthetic practitioner and BCAM board member Dr Bhavjit Kaur.
Dr Tatiana Lapa, also a speaker at the event, commented, “Bringing together so many fantastic speakers through different specialties and different avenues of knowledge distinguishes this course.”
