Gedling Borough Council’s Public Protection Team has warned residents about unlicensed anti-wrinkle injections reported in the area.
The report revealed that the injections being administered could cause permanent facial disfigurement, as the council urges residents to exercise caution, explaining that treatments containing botulinum toxin are prescription-only medicines, regulated by the Medicines and Healthcare Regulatory Agency (MHRA).
David Ellis, portfolio holder for Public Protection at Gedling Borough Council, commented, “We have received reports of potentially dangerous, unlicensed products being offered in treatments in Gedling Borough. These products are illegal and may be carried out by individuals who are putting people at serious risk for financial gain.”
