Shannon Kilgariff has been appointed as Editor and Content Manager of the Aesthetics portfolio.
Kilgariff joined the Aesthetics journal six years ago in a journalist role, before being promoted to senior journalist in 2017 and then deputy editor in 2019. Kilgariff has been working as Acting Editor since May 2021 after previous Editor Chloé Gronow went on maternity leave.
Kilgariff commented, “It’s an honour to take over the editorship from Chloé. I learnt so much about the aesthetics specialty from her, as well as our previous editor Amanda Cameron, and I know Chloé will be greatly missed. I have huge shoes to fill but I am extremely excited by the challenge and look forward to continuing to develop the Aesthetics, CCR and Beauty Uncovered portfolios to deliver the highest level of education to our readers and event attendees.”
Gronow added, “After eight years, it is with a heavy heart that I am leaving the Aesthetics team. I am privileged to have been welcomed into so many clinics and businesses and have thoroughly enjoyed learning about and championing the amazing work being done to improve patient safety. I’m proud of the standards my team and I have set to enhance this through our education, not only in the journal, but across the Aesthetics portfolio – CCR, ACE, the Aesthetics Awards and Beauty Uncovered. I know this will be continued when my wonderful friend and colleague, Shannon Kilgariff, takes over. Shannon has done a fantastic job covering for me while I’ve been on maternity leave. She is the most hardworking and, if you’ve ever met her, you’ll agree, the most enthusiastic person you could know! These attributes, combined with her stellar knowledge of the specialty, make Shannon a brilliant editor, team leader and trusted voice in aesthetics. Thank you so much to everyone for your ongoing support.”
