Dermatica holds breakfast panel

Aesthetics attended an event hosted by skincare brand Dermatica on November 6.

The morning began with a breakfast buffet and an opportunity for delegates to network before the discussion commenced. The panel featured consultant dermatologist Dr Khawar Hussain, beauty broadcaster Nicola Bonn and Lisa Payne, head of beauty at Stylus.

The conversation opened with an in-depth exploration of the different forms of retinoids and their varying potencies, before delving into their mechanisms of action, suitability for different patient profiles, and considerations surrounding tolerability and contraindications.

The session concluded with an introduction to the company’s new retinal range, with panelists discussing its formulation, clinical benefits and Dermatica’s focus on evidence-based, personalised skincare.

The discussion was followed by a Q&A session, allowing attendees to share insights with the speakers.

Dr Hussain commented, “We have added vitamin E and specific moisturisers to ensure that the tolerability element is there with our topical retinoid. I think that’s why we’ve had such success at Dermatica – most of our patients are able to tolerate it.”
