The Joint Council for Cosmetic Practitioners (JCCP) has appointed Lloyd Bracey as its new Chair, and Andrew Rankin as Registrar.
Following the retirement of previous Chair Professor David Sines, Bracey brings extensive experience advising senior leaders and boards in complex, highly regulated environments. His career includes consultancy work with pharmaceutical companies, with expertise spanning governance, accountability, regulatory assurance, ethical standards, patient safety and public trust. According to the JCCP, Bracey is a former TV news journalist and senior advisor to several global pharmaceutical companies.
The JCCP shares that, as Chair, Bracey will provide strategic leadership, independent oversight and strong governance, supporting the JCCP’s purpose of protecting the public through robust professional standards and effective accountability. He will also lead engagement with regulators, practitioners, stakeholders and the public, helping to communicate the JCCP’s purpose and position with clarity and authority.
Alongside Bracey’s appointment, Rankin has been appointed Registrar. Drawing on his extensive experience within the JCCP and cosmetic sector, Rankin will provide specialist oversight of the organisation’s professional and regulatory functions, shares the JCCP. The organisation explains that Rankin will continue to oversee the Practitioner Register Committee and Clinical Advisory Group and engage with regulators and other stakeholders.
Bracey commented, “It’s an honour to succeed David Sines and continue the commitment he has brought to the JCCP from the start. From journalism, I bring the habit of unpicking complex information to make it accessible; from pharma comms, the non-negotiable principle that patient safety must come first. With the vast experience of the JCCP’s existing members behind me, my aim in combining these approaches is to strengthen our voice and advance public protection in the years ahead.”
Rankin also commented, “Following a rigorous interview process, it was clear that Bracey was the right fit for the JCCP, taking us to the next stage of our operations and long-term strategy. His commitment to this new challenge underscores his dedication to our shared vision and, for the JCCP, it signals our continued commitment to our core charitable objectives. We are delighted to welcome Bracey to the team, and we look forward to his leadership.”
