Skincare company The Skin Diary welcomed press and practitioners to The Mayfair Hotel for the launch of its Pro-Helix C Collagen Peptide Brightening Serum, on October 15.
Following a drinks reception, founders and dermatologists Dr Clare Kiely and Dr Tamara Griffiths joined chief operating officer Emma O’Neill for a panel discussion about the new product. The team reported that testing showed a statistically significant increase in fibrillin markers in photoaged skin (p < 0.01). The panel explained that fibrillin is a component of the extracellular matrix and the skin’s elastic fibre structure, making it a relevant marker in the study of photoageing. The panel discussion was later followed by an audience Q&A, before guests sat down to a three-course meal.
Dr Kiely commented, “We started with the biology of ageing skin; mapping the pathways
that drive structural decline, then selecting a highly stable, well-researched form of vitamin C and pairing it with complementary actives designed to work across those same pathways. Pro-Helix C is the result, a next-generation, biology-led approach to vitamin C, designed around the complexity of ageing skin itself.”
