Totally Derma hosts regenerative panel

Nutraceutical collagen drink company Totally Derma, in partnership with the Regenerative Aesthetics and Wellness (RAW) Council, hosted a collagen panel event in London on 11 June.

The panel featured gut health and consultant surgeon Mr Lorenzo Garagnani, nutrition specialist May Simpkin, advanced facialist Smita Ahluwalia and women’s health specialist and aesthetic practitioner Dr Sophie Bracke. During the panel discussion, the Council emphasised the importance of consistent use and the holistic benefits of collagen, including its role in gut health and joint mobility. The discussion also touched on the importance of collagen for skin health, particularly in managing menopausal symptoms and improving skin hydration and resilience.

Dr Bracke cited a meta-analysis published in early 2026 that reviewed 170 academic studies involving more than 8,000 patients who received collagen supplementation. She explained that the analysis concluded that collagen supplementation led to statistically and medically measurable improvements across a range of health outcomes.

Speaking with Aesthetics, Mr Garagnani commented, “Prevention is not only the new trend, but also a necessity. People are living longer, and many of us continue to play sports, pursue hobbies, make music, play instruments, or engage in DIY and other manual activities well into later life. Because of that, it’s important to prevent the deterioration of our joints; otherwise, it can become much harder to maintain the lifestyle we enjoy as we get older. That’s why it’s so important to start looking after your joint health from a young age and to consider supplements that complement your diet and help protect your joints over the long term.”

In terms of skin health implications, Ahluwalia commented, “I’ve also noticed that patients whose skin was slightly more inflamed, particularly my menopausal clients, have seen a real reduction in that inflammation when taking collagen. As we know, gut health can have a significant impact on skin health, so I think that by taking Totally Derma and improving gut health, it also helps improve the appearance and condition of the skin.”

Speaking on gut health, Simpkin added, “I think people are beginning to understand that collagen is actually implicated in gut health and can help improve gut integrity. By that, I mean the lining of the digestive tract can be supported by collagen, because collagen is needed to build connective tissue. Since connective tissue forms part of the gut lining, having collagen can help maintain its integrity.”

Anita Eyles, owner and director of Totally Derma, commented, “The RAW Council represents a deliberate step toward a collagen brand grounded in clinical expertise and longevity thinking. It was a delight bringing together journalists, practitioners, wellness and longevity specialists for an intimate evening of education, energy and fun.”

Totally Derma will be exhibiting at CCR 2026.
