On February 9, Menopause in Aesthetics 2024 was held at the Business Design Centre, London, hosting a full day of learning focused on supporting women through the menopause.
Supported by headline sponsor Roseway Labs, the day’s agenda provided a plethora of sessions on topics including blood testing, hormone health, intimate treatments and patient safeguarding, female sexual dysfunction, weight management, polynucleotides and skin health.
Speakers included aesthetic practitioner Dr Shirin Lakhani, consultant gynaecologist Miss Anne Henderson, Australian dermatologist Dr Ginni Mansberg, nurse prescriber Tracey Dennison, dental surgeon Dr Yusra Al-Mukhtar and many more.
The Menopause in Aesthetics Trends Report was also shared with the press on the day, highlighting particular areas of growth and concern in women’s health. These trends include continuing stigma and misinformation around the risks of HRT, the development of testosterone treatments and growing awareness of bladder health.
During the press conference, Miss Anderson commented, “In my practice, I’ve noticed that the key trends in menopause care are self-awareness, self-referral and self-education. The vast majority of women self-refer due to awareness of the failings within the NHS and the inability to get decent quality advice. We need to lift the stigma, debunk the myths and offer unbiased facts about menopause.”
The conference rounded up with networking drinks hosted by BTL Aesthetics, featuring live music, a magician, photo opportunities and red roses for all guests.
Menopause in Aesthetics will return on February 7, 2025, and consumer menopause education event PAUSE Live will be held on September 28, 2024.
