BCAM Conference 2024 held in London

Written by...

On September 21, the British College of Aesthetic Medicine (BCAM) held its annual conference for just over 300 delegates at Church House, Westminster.

Across the day, BCAM shone the spotlight on a range of topics including face and body, clinic management, complications and wellness. Some highlights of the content included in-depth panels with all the speakers taking personalised questions around case studies and best practice.

The wellness content stream in particular highlighted a key area of growth in the aesthetics specialty, providing education on hormones from Dr Sohere Roked, collagen supplementation with Eva Escofet and hyperbaric oxygen therapy with Dr Nur Ozyilmaz.

The event was also an opportunity for recent examinees of the MBCAM examination to receive their certificates on stage: Dr John Culling, Dr Ahmed El Hossieny, Dr Hayley Elsmore, Dr Dil Kassam, Dr Kathryn Taylor-Barnes and Dr Leah Totton.

BCAM Trustee and aesthetic practitioner Dr Sophie Shotter commented, “Bringing together a multi-specialty array of UK and international speakers, the agenda focussed on delivering the best patient care and results. Highlights included Mr Marc Pacifico discussing how non-surgical treatments impact on future surgical interventions, Dr Tom Decates discussing the immunology of filler nodules, Mr James Olding discussing skeletal anatomy and Julie Scott showcasing how we can truly personalise consultations. The Ted-X style agenda delivered high educational impact in short, snappy talks, allowing delegates to maximise learning opportunities throughout the day.”

The next BCAM Conference will be held on October 11, 2025.
