Medical device company Candela invited Aesthetics to the debut of its new Glacē facial treatment at the Broadwick Soho hotel in London, on October 8.

Members of the press attended a breakfast and networking session before a panel discussion featuring aesthetic practitioners Dr Wassim Taktouk, Dr Brendan Khong, Dr Zoya Awan and Dr Ariel Haus.

The panel discussed the treatment’s intended suitability for a range of skin types and tones. Dr Taktouk explained that the protocol combines microdermabrasion for cleansing and exfoliation; hydro-infusion with targeted serums; two cupping massage stages, intended to support sculpting and lymphatic drainage; and either an light-emitting diode (LED) or thermal finishing step.

Dr Awan added that the treatment, with a duration of 30-60 minutes, can be adapted according to individual skin concerns and incorporated into wider treatment protocols.

According to Candela, Glacē uses six serums formulated with naturally derived and active ingredients, designed to target concerns including dullness, uneven texture, dehydration, fine lines and congestion. The treatment may be used on the face, neck and décolletage.
